CJAE

The purpose of the CJAE is to provide a forum for scholarship in agricultural and resource economics including topics concerning: agri-food, agri-business, the environment and natural resource uses. The CJAE publishes a range of theoretical, applied and policy-related articles.
The Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics is published four times a year: March, June, September and December. Members of the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society (CAES) receive the journal as part of their membership.
The CJAE is unique in Canada in that it focuses on the economics of agri-food and renewable resource related issues. Examples of the topics that have been addressed in recent issues of the CJAE include: agro-climatic conditions and regional technical inefficiencies in agriculture; the value of dairy quota under a commercial export milk program; earnings mobility of rural versus urban workers in Canada; information, incentives and institutions in the agri-food sector; economic analysis of ground water quality; wetland conservation; and economic issues surrounding wildlife management.
Journal inquiries and manuscript submissions should be sent to cjae at uvic dot ca. Please read the Submission Guidelines before sending your manuscript.
The CJAE is published by Wiley-Blackwell. Visit us at Wiley's CJAE website for online viewing, back issues and non-member subscriptions. CAES members access the CJAE online by visiting the Members section.
